Firestarter

For those of you who don't know me personally, I am very fond of a lovely little comic called HellBoy. So, of course, my love for the character compelled me to watch the HellBoy 2 movie... And, to put it lightly, I didn't think it did the comic a lick a justice. BUT, having said that, it did rekindle my love for the BPRD and its big red ape. I did this little piece of Miss Liz Sherman on my breaks at work.

Back from the dead

Holy crap in a hat, it has been way too long since my last post and I apologize. School was just way to crazy for my liking, BUT I managed to finish my senior project film, 'A Romance In Graphite', and once I get it on the film fest scene, I will make it available for some web viewing goodness. Although the insanity of school was difficult to bare, it was all worth it in the end because it landed me a super wicked job at House of Cool in Toronto. It is totally awesome there and the people I get to work with are overwhelmingly talented. And now I can put their link on my blog without looking like a totally obsessive fan girl.
Because I started work so shortly after school ended, I haven't had much Mel time, so I haven't managed to generate much original work, but here's a little something I did after I completed my film and before school ended. As you may have guessed by now, I heart dogs.

Mall Rat

Hello my fellow internet participants. I'm not sure if you've notice my absence lately, but I've been super busy and stressed out so GET OFF MY BACK! ...Sorry, sorry, I've just been a little on edge lately. Since school has started I've been swamped with film production, event planning and all other sorts of fun things that plague my life right now. Plus, I just saw Cloverfield last night and I still have a little bit of anxiety from it. I think I better have myself some herbal tea and watch The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross. Here's something I whipped up last semester when free time still existed.

A not so dirty hippy

Oh, hello there. Didn't see you come in.
I know I've been a little absent for the past couple of weeks, but it's not my fault! I have been afflicted with an incurable vice. One that quivers at my every touch. Curse you foul temptress, thou name is DS! As you might have guessed, I got a
Nintendo DS from my awesome big brother for Christmas (which totally made me feel like an asshole cause all I got him was a DVD). I have new responsibilities now, like saving princess Zelda and taking care of my Nintendog. Nevertheless, I will do my best to keep up my blog ...and finish my film ...and bathe regularly........ But I'm not making any promises!!!
Oh yea, here's a little character work I did last month. Enjoy!

I live in the house that sick built

I don't know about you guys, but I can't think of a more perfect way to spend the holidays than to cozy up to a nice warm box of tissues, watch endless hours of daytime television and drown in a sea of your own phlegm. In case you haven't already guess, I am sick. And just to prove that Murphy's law should be permanently changed to Mel's law, the sickness began on my birthday and caused me to miss the last night out with my school chums, the House of Cool Christmas party AND my own birthday buffet extravaganza at Mandarin.
But, enough complaining. I've decided to immortalize my crappy holidays by doing this self portrait. And just so you know, that is EXACTLY how I've looked for the past four days. I had to strategical position myself in order to cover the enormous hole in the crotch of my pajama pants.
Seasons Greetings everybodies!

Sugoi!

Hello again friends. I am bored.
I should be studying for my elective essay. I am not.
Sooo, in my moment of procrastination I posted this piece I did last year. It's a group of super cool, super trendy Tokyo kids. Asian kids dress so much better than I do...
And btw, that Japanese word sprayed on the wall is the last name of a friend of mine (although, I think I butchered the script pretty badly).

Weenter Wonderland

Tis the season to be puffy! I rewarded myself with some doodle time after finishing my elective essay (finally) and I whipped up this little number. It snowed last night and I've been listening to the 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' album waaay to much, so I was in a wintery mood. FYI, I actually owned a fuchsia pink snowsuit when I was in kindergarten...
And it was a w e s o m e .

Anyways, hope you like it!
